Why do my invoices skip numbers?

The shopping cart tracks all orders, even failed/declined orders.

These failures still take up an invoice number. If the invoice failed, no email notification is sent to the merchant.

You may view a missing order at any time by doing the following:
  1. Login to the Cart Admin,
  2. go to "Order History",
  3. click on "Search My Orders".
  4. In the upper most box, select "Failed Orders" as the Order Status,
  5. and choose an appropriate date range.
  6. Click "Search".
To view an order's specifics, click on the Order Number link. This will tell you why the order failed.

There are also other order statuses that will cause an order not to appear in the normal search. You can use the same method given above to view orders with one of these statuses.
